Last weekend Andrew and I finally made our way over to Chimney Rock for an afternoon hike. We didn't quite know what we were getting ourselves into and didn't know much about the park except for seeing the photo on the front of the brochure. We were pleasantly surprised that inside the park there were a wide variety of trails to explore and we didn't even get a chance to see them all. Be prepared for a lot of stairs though, I was sore for about two days after our visit from hiking staircase after staircase to get to all the views; there is typically an elevator up to the main lookout point for those looking for a bit of a break but it was down for the day. I wore these beautiful Floral Tropics Lotus Leggings for the first time and was comfortable even in the heat. We were pleasantly surprised by the quaintness of 'downtown' Chimney Rock between the kitschy souvenir shops and variety of restaurants. We found ourselves at a little Mexican restaurant, Nachito's right on Main Street and not only was it delicious it had a fantastic back deck overlooking a beautiful, rushing river; the perfect end to a Sunday afternoon.
