2018 // New Year New You.

Happy New Year y'all! 2017 flew by but I will definitely say that past couple of months whizzed by even faster, between lots going on in our personal lives, friends and family coming to town to visit and working a retail job through the holidays I swear it was just September yesterday. Andrew and I saw a lot of changes in 2017 one major change being moving literally to the other side of the country, and Asheville truly welcomed us with open arms. I think throughout the past year we realized how important new experiences are to us, even something as small as driving to a new town 20 minutes away and grabbing a cup of coffee; just a constant need to experience new places and new people, so we definitely want to be doing more of that this year. I'm not one for resolutions per se, but I am definitely one for setting goals and the fresh start of a new year seems like a solid place to start. My personal goals are just to be a better person each and every day, live through positivity and be kind to others. And, maybe stepping a little further out of my comfort zone, I think 2017 brought me the most confidence in myself, so now I feel like I should encourage myself to try new things. As for Fashion by Day, my goal for the upcoming year is just to bring you all more; you've been following a long with my outfits for such a long time and I love sharing that with you but I want to start sharing a little more about me and what I like to do, and see and eat. I'm going to be incorporating a little more lifestyle aspects into the blog and hopefully if 2018 sends it our way a little more travel. Best Foot Forward.

A new year always symbolizes a new beginning of sorts and not only did we recently begin the year 2017, yesterday I celebrated my 26th birthday. I've decided this year is going to be one of positivity and living a healthier life both physically and mentally. In November of last year I signed up for my first gym membership in order to steer myself into a more active lifestyle; I'm actually surprised with how much I enjoy exercising in a gym setting and how rewarding it feels to be committed to fitness. In an effort to live with a healthier mindset I'm going to try my best not to sweat the small stuff this year. My mom told me the other day, 'there is no point stressing out because whether you stress about a situation or not, the outcome will be the same as long as you are doing your best.' Instead of getting worked up when things don't always seem to be working out I'm going to just put my best foot forward and assume whatever happens is what meant to happen. And on that note speaking of the best foot, these Skechers sneakers are amazing, definitely going to be my fitness companion in the coming months, because they are so unbelievably comfortable, and I love how neutral they are because they can easily transfer from the gym to the streets.

January One.

Happy New Year! Can't believe it's 2016 already! Looking back 2015 was really good to me, I got to experiences lots of new things and spend basically all my free time surrounded by family. From a couple family vacations both on my side and Andrew's, to welcoming (from a distance) my new niece into the world, to building friendships with fellow bloggers, and seeing friends and family getting married! 2015 was really filled with so much happiness!

I'm not really big on New Year's resolutions, because I'm not that keen on setting myself up for disappointment, but I feel it's always good to go into the new year with positive vibes and to just always work on being a better person and helping others. This year I want to travel and go on new adventures with all the people I love, starting with my first visit to Portland in just a couple weeks! Any suggestions on the best food, please feel free to advice. Other than that I can't wait to see what the future holds both near and far!
