From kimonos, to wraps, to robe coats, to just plaid robes, lightweight layers seem to be on continuous rotation, and I'll admit I'm not mad about it. As a lover of one extra layer I am pleased that a variation of these styles is always trend right for the season and for winter, satin robe styles are taking street style by storm. I scooped up this rose gold Line & Dot one at the Nest Boutique's new year's sale last week and after having my eye on it for a while was so excited to have scored the last one in the store! It is currently sold out online, but I did find the same one in a fun, metallic silver that you can shop here. They're a great lighter layer as we transition slowly into Spring, and I love the 'I woke up like this' flair they add to your favorite basics. Take a look at this outfit here, along with this one here, and you'll notice I've worn almost the same look multiple times I've just changed the type of layer I'm wearing; easy peasy updates to your favorites!

Black + Camel.
This is a great example of outfit restyling; these are all pieces I've have in my closet that you have seen over the past couple of weeks but I've just reworked them altogether. I have always been such a fan of black and camel paired together; there is such a timelessness of the color combo and I think it has a very elegant and classic feel perfect for mixing and matching your favorite pieces. I love this Moth sweater, that comes in about 5 colors, because not only is it super soft it is a great length especially for pairing with leggings (I have to have my tush covered when wearing leggings). And this time of year a fur vest is my go to addition to almost any look, this one is a couple years old from Target but I found a super cute shearling and fur vest here that is under $20 and also comes in petite sizes. And of course let's not forget my favorite pant alternative of the season, these amazing Spanx leggings that are great for the holidays especially those parties where you may be having a couple extra desserts! :)
Knits on Knits.
The temperature dropped drastically around here this week, seriously there was some snow stuck on the ground Sunday, and all I want to do is bundle up in my coziest pieces over and over again! With that in mind I restyled this sweater from last week and this dress because they are two of my current favorite pieces for Fall and clearly so versatile. I added a belt at the waist and tucked in just the front of my sweater so it gave off the illusion of a skirt and top! Stay cozy friends :)
All Wrapped Up.
You can take the girl out of the Southwest but you can't take the Southwest out of the girl! I think after spending so much time living in Southern California I will always have a bohemian influence and southwestern vibe to my style, whether boho chic is currently 'trending' or not I will always be a fan of the texture, patterns and easy breezy silhouettes. This BB Dakota jacket is a couple years old, you may remember it from here, but it's one of my favorite pieces for the Fall transition. It pairs so well layered over dresses like, with chunky sweaters and leggings or hanging open with your favorite denim. In the side bar --> I've linked some of my favorite blanket jackets and scarves to get you through the season!
Lots of Leather.
Hi everyone, hope ya'll had great weekends! Due to the gloomy weather last week I didn't get a lot of outfits shot but I did want to share this look from this past Saturday! I wore this Free People Dress from forever ago, you've seen it here, layered over some Pilcro faux leather pants from Anthropologie's Fall collection last year. I love that this time of year leather starts to emerge in every aspect from of course bags and shoes but to pants, skirts and jackets and I just can't get enough. I've linked a bunch of my favorite leather pants and leggings below for you, and there is an amazing Spanx legging you will love!
Metallic Mayhem.
Still talking Fall trends as well as restyling old pieces, here wearing a Cabi top and some Anthropologie pants you've seen before. Metallics are going to be a major player in Fall styles but the fun with shimmer for the upcoming season is wearing it in unexpected, everyday ways. I totally toned down these wide leg pants by pairing them with an everyday denim shirt, a closet staple I'm sure all of you own. While these pants may be perfect with a flirty, black top for cocktail hour they seem a little extra special when you can walk around town in the middle of the day in them. They would even be fun paired with the perfect white t-shirt and some sneakers for some cool girl street style.
Fem Favorites.
I opted for extra feminine vibes one day earlier this week by restyling some old favorites I've had in my closet for some time. You've been seeing this midi skirt for years and it's so basic that I keep finding new ways to reinvent it every season. Over the next couple of months I'm setting myself on a styling and budget challenge to work on restyling clothes I already have to make them fresh and exciting in an effort to slow down on my clothing spending. Andrew and I are trying to plan a trip over seas near the end of the year so I will be working to save towards that. So stay tuned for some extra styling tips heading your way with pieces you've seen once, twice, maybe a dozen times! This look is made up of pieces I have had for a while like the top seen here, and the skirt here & here, but I did accent it with a fun, new pair of Steve Madden sandals and suddenly the look felt fresh again. These sandals haven't gone on sale quite yet, I found mine at local shoe shop Tops for under $40 but Target has also done an extremely similar pair here for under $25.
