All the Ruffles.

Basically this season just give me all the ruffles - any ruffle details on pretty much any aspect of clothing is a win in my book. These semi-gauchoesque pants are by far my new favorite piece, between the slit sides, angled hem line and of course ruffled details I'll be wearing these everywhere day and night! Dressed them up a little bit here, but soon plan on restyling them with a graphic tee and some white sneakers for a casual, afternoon look.

The Slip Dress.

At the end of last week I jumped on the bandwagon and tried this seen everywhere trend, the layered slip dress. Since summer celebs and street style stars across the globe have been layering their slip dresses over tees and turtlenecks for every occasion; I couldn't help myself but to also try this retro style revamped and borrowed from the 90s. To give it more of a Fall vibe, I opted for s lightly metallic turtleneck and chose a velvet slip dress, which also ties back to the major velvet trend happening this season. I'm sure to be seen wearing this look again, maybe paired back with some sneakers for the weekend or some over the knee boots and a longer coat for a night out. Are you ready to bring back the nineties and try this trend?

Dresses Over Pants Take Two.

As I'm in between seasons and still trying to get the most out of my Spring Summer wardrobe because I haven't quite built my Fall wardrobe yet, I'm trying to mix and match and restyle some of my favorite older pieces. To remix this olive maxi dress, I styled it over a raw hem skinny jean and paired with some snakeskin mules. This maxi is great for layering over pants because the slit is so high your legs are very visible without much movement. Don't be afraid to layer up your short and long summer dresses alike and share them on Instagram, tag me, @kirbymorris - I'd love to see your take on the trend!

Layered Up.

The 90s are back and in a major way in fashion, and one of the trends I'm loving is layering slip dresses and lingerie-esque camisoles over other tops and t-shirts. I even modernized this amazing Cabi suit by combining it with this throwback trend. Try it out and tag me in your pictures on Instagram (@kirbymorris) I'd love to see and to share!

The Skinny on Scarves.

One of the biggest and if I may easiest accessory trends for the season is the skinny scarf. Channeling the 70s the trend was seen on countless runways for Fall 15' as well as all over the streets. I have to say I'm absolutely loving this accessory, and it's such an easy addition to countless looks. I didn't even have to go out and buy a silky scarf; this piece was actually the sash to an old dress I haven't worn in years! If you don't have something lying around I linked a handful of affordable black scarves in the side bar! --->

Overall in Love with this Denim Trend.

The overalls, one of fashion's original rompers though entirely constructed of denim and complete with buckle straps. Some may be totally scared of this retro active trend, but I have to admit, I'm all for it. Not only do you have a head to toe denim look put together with one piece there's something just fabulous about dressing up your favorite coveralls and heading from day to night. In order not to look straight off the farm, I added a funky heeled shoe to counter my hometown look. Are you ready to revamp your overalls?!

Trends to Try: Spring Edition.

With Spring styles officially hitting us full force trends from the runway are being seen through street style everywhere. I tried out a couple of the latest trends yesterday and I have to say, with the two combined, I'm loving the results. Trend to try: Pair a dress over your pants - I opted for belting my dress, because I chose to wear cropped jeans that also flare out, don't be afraid to let a shift dress hang easily over your skinny jeans or leather leggings. More inspiration here. Trend to try: Get in touch with your western side with denim on denim looks. Mine was slightly more subtle with the dress breaking up the two denim pieces, but if you're really trying to make a statement try just a denim button down with your favorite jeans! More inspiration here. Happy styling!

The Fray.

Talking denim once again and this time I'm personally loving this trend: frayed, raw-edge denim. I'm already an ongoing supporter of a distressed jean but there's something about the unhemmed ankle that I'm LOVING. Maybe it's that with this cut-off look everything is becoming slightly cropped, which I love for pairing with ankle boots and lady like pumps. To try out the trend for myself yesterday, I cut off about 8 inches of an old pair of bootcut jeans and then distressed the knees with sandpaper; I'm very satisfied with my handiwork.
