Thank You Kendall Jenner.

I just want to give a big shout out to both Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid for wearing this amazing faux fur coat from Express a couple weeks ago. Stumbling upon this gem was such a treat; for less than $40 it may have become my new best friend, and I think I'll find myself curled up in it for the rest of Winter.

Top Knot & Polka Dots.

Embracing lots of color with this look, focusing on emerald green. Found this versatile, reversible skirt on super sale at Target and couldn't be more excited to add this jeweled beauty to my wardrobe. The pink and green are a great contrast, with the denim jacket and neutral sandals toning them down and the beaded necklace bringing all the colors together. You'll be seeing lots of emerald this upcoming season and for me this skirt was the perfect place to start.

All Tied Up.

Try tying up the front of your favorite button down for a fresh update to a classic look. This youthful twist is more playful for summertime styling and gives a basic button down a feminine touch. Accessorize with a blend of menswear inspired pieces such as boyfriend jeans, wayfarer shades, watches or oxfords.

OATW.

In the words of Akon, 'We takin' over one city at a time.' That's us Ohioans I mean. Born and raised in Ohio I feel it is my job along with Ohio Against the World to rep where I come from. I'm all about supporting a small company, especially one with a personal connection. And I can't tell you how instantly a fell in love with this Plus Tax sweater. Check them out online, merch is selling like crazy!

Lessons in Metallics.

This season brightly colored baubles and gemstone statement pieces have lost their sparkle making way for a heavy flow of mixed metals. Jewelry is all about silver and especially gold and you can't go wrong if you're mixing the two. Not only in accessorizing; metallics are becoming a staple to everyday dressing. If you're afraid of attracting attention from outerspace start out by trying something simple like a pair of silver stilettos.

Iron Gothic

If you haven't added any prints to your summer wardrobe, now is the time! All-over print denim, dresses and tops are the best way to freshen up your favorite looks. Whether they're on their own or mixed with other prints they'll keep your wardrobe on its' toes and give you lots of options to mix and match! This season you will not get bored.

Joshua Tree of Life.

Two weekends ago (the weekend before I turned 22) I got to visit Joshua Tree National Park for the first time, and I decided that 2013 is going to be my best year yet, I'm starting if off 22 years young, surrounded by the people I love, and with my whole life ahead of me. I'm not going to let anything hold me back this year, especially myself. I'm no longer going to let my clothes define me, but more so let my creative style come along on my adventures.
Trend to Try: Mix up your everyday look with some sneakers.

Flower Power.

A lot of great things happening with this look, amazing floral print tights, trying out a fire engine red lip, the perfect cat eye shades, and a wardrobe staple, combat boots. This may very well be my absolute new favorite look from head to toe. It's just such an eclectic mix of me, aside from the red lip, which is something new I'm trying out. Thoughts? The jury is still out on this one, I definitely feel more comfortable with it partially hidden behind a UV lens, so maybe soon my eyes and lips will make an appearance together. Stay tuned.

Print Pants.

This gorgeous Louis Vuitton bag was an extremely generous gift from Andrew's mom; she has been accumulating a collection of Louie's for years. After finally getting enough nerve to carry this beauty out of the house (it's probably the most luxurious thing I've ever touched), I've realized it is the perfect bag. Great size, perfect handle length, will go with everything! Thanks so much Pukka!
In other news: I've really been enjoying my role as a visual merchandiser, there is so much creativity that goes behind each display, and I know it's really gearing me up to be a stylist! The stores owner, Irene, is a believer in fast fashion, so I've been trying to control my spending, when new merchandise hits the floor, EVERY other DAY! I did splurge and buy these awesome floral print jeans. I'll be honest, I'm obsessed and if they weren't so memorable I would probably wear them everyday!

Walking Tall.

I honestly don't have too much to say about this look, other than after wearing this flower cuff, I wish I wore it more often. It's fun and girly, but because of it's structure also makes me feel powerful and strong. I will say this though, this past week Southern California has been undergoing a heat wave, not to mention earthquakes, and after going home for lunch midday, I realized it was too hot and too much effort to wear platform heels all day. If I still lived in Ohio, I don't think I would wear heels hardly at all over the summer, too much work.

Grass is Always Greener.

I find a lot of joy in many simple things, but there aren't many things as relaxing as laying in the grass. I really wanted to make the colors in this dress pop so I paired it with neon accessories to brighten things up. Neon is a HUGE trend this summer, and I'm still navigating the waters. As someone who feels much more comfortable in darker palettes, accessories are a good place to start.

Mixed Media.

If you're a little timid about mixing prints, a good way to start is with monochromatic colors or any other blend of the same colors, this way there is less confusion for the eye. From there you can accent your look with colored accessories or shoes, to make things pop and make the look your own.
