Statement Coat.

I have been waiting weeks to wear this palm tree printed Zara coat since I scooped it up at one of their recent sales. I am all about adding one or two statement coats to your wardrobe this season because they add a new versatility to your wardrobe. Instead of worrying about constantly looking fresh with your outfit underneath your outerwear, this year keep your base layers neutral and simple and have some fun with your coat and accessories!

The Perfect Sweater Dress.

Found the perfect sweater dress from Zara, and it's under $25, you can shop it here. I love the combination of texture, color and length and of course the added bonus of the mock neckline. Basically great for any occasion day or night or any holiday party you may have!

Cold Shoulder.

One of this season's hottest trends is the cold shoulder. Whether it be entirely off the shoulder tops and dresses or pieces with shoulder cut outs, this summer we are baring it all! I'm loving this little Zara crop top, because it's an extremely comfortable knit making this trend easy to execute and a simple, black top like this can be extremely versatile in any summer wardrobe!

The T-Shirt Dress.

I can't tell you how in love I am with this Zara T-shirt dress! I've already worn in about four times in the past two weeks, and you can't compete with a love like that especially when I fell in love for less than $30. This and future accumulated pieces like this have officially just become my Spring staple.

Mod Squad.

I'm not sure if listening to Taylor Swift's 1989 on repeat has anything to do with this, but today I was feeling a little girly and a little retro. Loving high necklines and chunky boots this season for a slightly mod look.

Trials in Tights.

It's amazing what tights can do for an outfit and your confidence for that matter. I would probably never wear a skirt this short and fitted with my pale, bare leggings seeing the light of day, but adding a sheer tight adds just the right amount of layering and conservativeness to keep me comfortable and confident in this wintry look.

It's All About the Jakett.

It's pretty common knowledge that I can't live without a great leather jacket. It's been a wardrobe staple of mine for years, so when my favorite boutique Blue Eyed Girl got in this beautiful vegan leather jacket by Jakett I swooned. Playing dress up in some of my fall favorites from the shop made it pretty evident this jacket is the perfect statement to
any look, day or night.

Shout for Chambray.

I'm mainly just SUPER excited about this chambray shirt! I found this insanely comfortable Marc by Marc Jacobs button down on the sale rack at Loehmann's, and couldn't pass it up. Using the additional percent off purple tags, plus my additional 20% off the total purchase, I got this $198 top for a mere $41. That is beyond a score! This is already my third time wearing it in the past week, I love a good button down, so you'll definitely be seeing it a lot more! The rest of the look is pretty simple, a styling technique I use often, taking a more masculine look (oversized denim; and a oxford) and making it feminine with dainty stilettos and a statement accessory. Perfect for heading back to work after a week off.

Going to the Chapel.

Yesterday two of the greatest people I know, my boyfriend's brother Larry and his girlfriend of over nine years, Callie, got married. It was a beautiful, love filled day, and it was great to be surrounded by such a wonderful family. I haven't been back to the midwest for a while, and I forgot how hot and humid it can be in the summer. Fortunately, I wore a very low maintence ensemble, and loved my dress so much, I didn't even change for the reception. This Zara dress was perfect, because it fit comfortably, I had room to breathe, it was sticking to me in the scorching heat due to the peplumy skirt, and I could wear comfortable undergarments, include a regular, straps included bra. I kept accessories to a bare minimum because of the pattern on the dress and kept things together with these two toned stiletto sandals, and a beautiful straw clutch.
